Hello, I am a beginning Zbrush user – and new to computers and 3d art in general – so please forgive my ignorance, but I am having some trouble getting compatibility between Maya 2018 and a trial version of Zbrush 4r7.
I am using the Zbrush FBX export import plugin, attempting to import an .FBX file that I created in Maya 2018 and Mudbox 2018, but I get an error code : -1. After that, a pop up says that the tool was loaded, but it is nowhere to be found.
I understand there is some compatibibility issues between Maya since switching to Arnold and Zbrush, but so far all I have read is that those issues only related to the GoZ application – I understood that importing/exporting fbx or obj files should still work fine.
Any help is appreciated – I really have scoured the web and can’t find any information that helps me.
If no good option exist, I suppose I will just install Maya 2015 and work from that, although I do like some of the new features of Maya 2018 so a better solution than reverting would be fantastic.
