I need to engrave text on a sculpture. I found instructions for using a stencil, but it’s coming out rough.
Is a stencil the best method?
How can I avoid the roughness around the edges of the letters? (Hopefully I can upload an image of what I mean)

You have probably a poor quality jpg as a stencil. Use a better quality picture.
I see that all the files in the ZAlpha directory of the installation are photoshop files. Would it help to use a psd file of the image?
The best would be a Grayscale 16 bit .psd file. I don’t think that changing a highly compressed .jpg to .psd will make much differance. Can you post the image that you are using?
