I brought in a low res (.obj) mesh into ZbrushCore, clicked Make PolyMesh3D, and then tried to convert my object into a Dynamesh object. However, it seems that no matter what I have Dynamesh’s Resolution slider set to, it converts it to just over 2 million active points. Setting the resolution slider to 16, 128 (default dynamesh res) and even 1024 didn’t make too much of a difference in active points (still just over or under 2 mil). I tried wiggling and sculpting on the mesh before converting to Dynamesh, and I tried modifying the mesh and then converting it to a higher or lower resolution with no success.
Default shapes in ZbrushCore convert fine to dynamesh, and I can raise and lower their resolutions successfully. Has anyone else had this problem or could suggest a potential solution?
Base mesh was created in 3DS Max 2015 and exported as an OBJ.
My modifier panel in Max was collapsed and my mesh was in Editable Mesh mode before export.
All normals are correct, no overlapping verts or edges.
