Durotan the Chieftain of the Frostwolf Clan (FanArt)

Hello,

I`m back after an absence of 4 years (I lost the previous account). I have been working on my skills and now I would like to present my latest personal project–Durotan fanart from the Warcraft movie.

I got inspired by Wei Wang`s concepts (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/8oNoE), in particular the Durotan ones, the main character of the movie, so I decided to make a 3D character cinematic of him. My idea was not to wrap him in a big armor and massive weaponry, firstly to work more on anatomy and organic stuff and secondly because Durotan is a peaceful being who seeks harmony and strives for freedom. I also wanted to portray him as a leader, a capable Chieftain.

I have started this project two years ago but with a full-time job, I casted the project aside so many times until recently when I decided to go back to it and finish it. For now, it is just the Hi-Res model but I`m willing to texture it and use Xgen in Maya to do the hair properly, then get on with the final render in Arnold. For the 3D sculpture, I started from scratch, no scans used. I used Zbrush and Marvelous Designer.

Thank you and I hope you like it. C&C more than welcome.

P.S. Many thanks to the developing team behind ZBrush for the great job they’re doing with the software! You guys rock!
