Is there a way to take advantage of my second monitor with ZBrush? In other programs I put the palettes on one, workspace on the other.
no clue, but that sounds like a great idea, wish i had 2 monitors…
What you can do is put all your palettes on one side and then put that side on the other monitor.
Also, I would recommend building a custom Float Menu (see the instructions in Newbie Lesson One in the New User QuickLinks or in the manual) for use with the Document Maximized layout (the D button in the title bar). This, combined with the QuickMenu (spacebar) allows you to take full advantage of your screen real estate while also having everything that you want where you want it. Remember that the Float Menu can be turned on and off by pressing the Tab key.
In fact, version 1.55b even lets you name configurations. Each configuration can have its own Float Menu and palette layout. This means that you can create customized interfaces to suit your various ZBrush tasks. For example, one for modeling, one for texturing, one for painting, and one for lighting and rendering. The choices are limitless.
ah awesome… I love using the extra screen for my palletes both in photoshop, 3d max and Adobe Premire.
now I can figure this out in zbrush…
gotta love the multitasking involved.
I use dual screen…
When I work in ZBrush, I can’t use another monitor! I feel strange… Because I used to spread out myself
It would be great to freely move “floating menu” in between monitors
I got 1024x1280 (rotated vertically) + 1920x1200 (screenshot - http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/originals/6d/37/3e/6d373ec5f5b92be7c90376b33e76d3be.jpg)
It would be great to use 1920x1200 for UI only (float+trays) with 1024x1280 as preview frame (canvas)
PLEASE make this possible - it seems so easy to be developed
Most computers have 2 video-outs btw
I would like to suggest to ZBrush they make the canvas window undockable from the primary window to facitate moving that to a second monitor.
I work in other programs that permit me to use my dual monitor setup to move all the tools to the second monitor leaving me a full screen to work in without any clutter while my tools are on another screen. This has the advantage of being able to have a larger number of tools to select from without having to compromise the amount of space I have to work with.
