hey, I am new too, and 16 :P, verry nice head! can you tell me how you make that details? Maybe you have a zscript? I am making a dragon too, but I just cant get little details.

thanks.

comment comment !!

first of all you have to give your model enough polygons to handle that much detail (if you want to put detail to the actual model) or you can just make a bump map. Use projection master to draw the details, thats the best thing

Alright, not bad. However your underlying structure could be improved a bit. You seem to have only used 1 tool, so it all looks similar. You need defining shapes, sharp and smooth areas, detailed and not so detailed to build the character. Perhaps experimenting with alphas would help you. You have a very tiny head, really large jaw and horns right out of the back of the head and no room for the neck that will be required to hold it up. Now all that said, doesn’t mean you didn’t do what you set out to do. You however did ask for some feedback. Do a search for ‘dragon’ on the forum and you will see some amazing work that might show what I’m suggesting. You will find good and bad examples, but if you can see it, your work will take a large leap forward.

Welcome to you, game_killer and to Zpike. It’s a great time to learn, while your minds still want to.

That was really great, it encouraged me to move to the neck and used what i learned from what you said on it

Not to influence you but if you follow the links in my signature you might get some help. Keep your goal or style, but to help you with structure from myself and others you might get some ideas. People and animals follow similar rules in general.

Ok…
this is really sad (or because i dont know the way to fix it)
when i tried to add the rest of the body i realized the model had too many polygons to extend to a body, i guess i should have built the body with the head. :frowning:
help me please i donno what to do, should i just start a new model?

It’s good practice to start over and improve on everyting you did.

wow, your comments make me more addicted to zbrush. thanks a lot

Hi game_killer,

You could try on and do it all again or you could take a look at MarkerMaster created by marcus_civis. It’ll allow you to create 2 or more meshes and the possibility to make a new one.
Just read all the thread so you know some things you could encounter along the way.

Hope it helps

Cool dragon head by the way. I think Jason has some good observations to take in count

Take care
