Darkling from The Darkness

This is My WIP of a darkling from the topcrow comics “The Darkness”. I allways wanted to do this monster but i never had the right tool to do it.
I started out with a zspeher-model as u can see in the left upper corner, eyes, theeth and gingiva are already subtools. My next goal is to dress him and detail out the skin. Because the source is a comic book I try to keep the look of it and will not go for a realrealisic look.
I will go on with this one, so C&C are welcome.

I like it a lot. It has just enough detail to retain the comically-realistic look of The Darkness, but not too much as to seem actually realistic.

okay you’ve asked for it ; ) (in my thread)

the body is looking a bit flat…from the front it looks like he has boobs and a belly…but from the side he’s flat…so try to give it a bit more volume so he shapes out alot more from every angle.
the first face you posted had alot more volume and shape to the face as well.
the last render you found the smooth brush i guess…but the face looks a bit drawn on to indicate eyebrowse instead of having the shape of eyebrowse.
and his nose become a upside down lollypop glued to his face.
hope i’m not beeing to hard on you, cus we all had to start somewhere…but you did manage the cylinders thingy…i still struggle with that and have to build my base mesh else where…so your on your way to a arty future.

thats my rasta darkling i hope u like it. I worked a little on his belly but he is suppose to look a little fat around this area. I foud this funny darkling in the “Alien vs Predator Overkill feat. Witchblad and the Darkness” I did use a toonshader to keep the comic look.
