Is there a way to have the face normals of a subtool all face the same direction ? ( What is called mesh misplay - conform normals in Maya )
Flipping by hand is not really an option since I am working with imported obj’s

The only way to flip normals in ZBrush is to hide all the polygons except the ones you want to flip, and then use Tool> Display Properties> Flip. You may want to examine your mesh closely for issues with the geometry if it is coming into the program with normals flipped the wrong way.

That’s what I thought. It seems this feature is not in high demand, since I suggested it years ago to the developers. I’ll continue to use other apps for that before importing into ZBrush.
