Color not working

I just made a 3d model of an alien face with a skin tone color. now I’m trying to draw a red streak of blood on him, but it won’t change to the right color. Im certain i clicked on the red color, and Tectures are off. Is this a glitch or do I have some button pressed down that I don’t know about?

Hi David,

In order to draw on a mesh, if the mesh is still active you need to fill it with your skin color and then paint on it. You can fill it from the color palette…there is a button that says fill just below the color picker…choose your skin tone then click fill…then if you are trying to draw the color on an active mesh make sure you are in draw mode and then change to your red color.

Hope I understood your question correctly.

You weren’t too far off Vikki, but Im already done with the 3d modeling, and Zbrush isn’t letting me do anything in any color I don’t already have down on the canvas.

David

I haven’t heard of that one happening before! Could you please send me a screen shot of ZBrush when you are having this problem? Please make sure that both trays are open so that I can see the palettes.

Just to clerify, you have snapshot the object to the canvas, and are now trying to paint on it using the 2.5D brushes and it won’t let you use any color that has not already been used on the canvas?

It could be the material. I’ve noticed some of the materials don’t really show color. Maybe not, but that’s my idea.

guess: maybe that colour>continuous is activated in the picker palette? if so: to return to default settings you have to click on the colour-icon.

I restarted ZBrush, and the problem was fixed. I think Juandel was right , I was trying to figure out what the picker did a while ago. Maybee I presed a button.

David

Good call, Juandel! I should have thought of that one. :frowning:

The Picker is a super powerful tool, but it IS easy to accidentally leave the settings active after you no longer need them.
