Clip Brush Symmetry ?

Hi there,

I was wondering why the Symmetry is not working when I use all the CLIP BRUSHES !

I mean, when I use a mask it works like a charme, but when using the CLIP CIRCLE BRUSH for isntance… nope… the Symmetry does NOT work.

What the heck am I doing wrong ?

Symmetry works with clip brushes. I’d need to see what you’re doing exactly. There may be something wrong with your method, or you may be trying to clip in a manner where the side to side symmetry conflicts with itself.

You can always clip one side, then mirror and weld the changes to the other side in a symmetrical object.

Clip brushes work with symmetry. It’s the Slice and Trim brushes that don’t.

well… I am using the slice brush… CTRL+ALT and then the Symmetry does NOT work…
I like to use that method to get nice polygroups.

any other options ?

As mentioned, you can slice then mirror and weld.

You can also use symmetrical masking, then make polygroups from mask (shift-ctrl-e or shift-ctrl-w).
