I´ve just bought 3DWorld and guess what…they are giving away a full copie of Cinema4D R6 for free in the CD!!! I saw Computer Arts magazine and they had the same offer. For $79 you can upgrade the free copie to an advanced one( R6+ ).
Houdini the price is $99 and worth every nickel. I installed it yesterday it’s called CE+ but as Houdini has mentioned it is indeed XL 6.3 YAHOOOO!!!
The magazine version has render size limitations and the CE+ version does not.

Thanks for the link. I’m a Maya guy by trade, but I did a little research on C4D R 6.3 and for $99.00 bucks, (if in fact it is R6.3, no offense) it should be worth the money! My copy of the CE edition should be here today. I will put it through it’s paces and let you guys know my opinion. I’m very savy when it comes to buying software, and I’ll give you guys a good 121 based on my Maya/Max/etc. experiences/knowledge. 
P.S. If any one is curious about what can be done with C4DR6.3 go to http://www.maxon.net and look to the left for the gallery page.(two or three pages in) Some of the images show the date and version number of the software used. I thought this was nice to have an idea of what was possible, even though I could not find a features list any where on the net, nor even a link on Maxons website(to even buy the software). I would have had no clue about this if it was not for you Bluesman!
I got that same CE version from 3D world. But isn’t restricted to 640 x 480? If you up grade will restriction go away?

Yes,the upgrade does up to 2048 X 1536 I own CE+.
It’s identical to XL 6.3.
The rap is in the year 2000 this same software sold for $2,195.
Here’s a model I’m playing with sort of looks like a frog, LOL.

Hey guys, am I missing something here? I installed C4D from the 3D world disc but there is no help manual. When I go to the pull down “help” it tells me the that manual is missing. Any clues or advice on this, you C4d gurus.
I’ve checked out some of the tuts online but it assumes you know the layout of the tools. Help me please help me!
