Centaur Creature

Here is a creature I made up. from scratch. I was kinda inspired by Carlos Huante’s “Monsturo” book so I made up a weird fish-lizard-centaur thing. Dunno what it is. The base mesh was modeled in Silo, displacement painting as well as color painting in Zbrush and finally rendered in Maya/Mental Ray. Hope you like.

Original and well made, great work.

great model there…very original and inspiring.*****

nice model :+1:

the rendering is a bit dark though. I would like to see some more details…a Zbrush screengrab perhaps…

I really like his hands nice work man.

Could you please let me know your workflow for generating and rendering your displacement in Maya? I am having a heck of a time trying to get my Maya render to match my ZBrush sculpt! (I’m using 16 bit dis. I would like to use 32 bit but I can’t paint out any areas I am not happy with.)

I hope you can enlighten everyone because you results look GREAT!!!

Peace,

NickZ.

Cool. got a old school retro look. Nice.

I agree with all the positives. Nice to see well done and unique work and styles. Now that is why I voted for gene splicingm wahooo!

Really nice any chance you might have it a brighter light set up, I would really like to look at the details.

The way I do displacement maps is the way I was taught from Scott Spencer’s tutorial I found on Youtube.

Hope this helps.

I took your advice and did some renders with a lighter background. Now i see what you all mean, the BG does affect the character. Here it is and I’m also posting the wireframe.
