Cavity masking help

Hey all,
Im trying to mask out the deep sculpted sections, like in the cracks, for painting and for glow when I render in my other app. My question is, how can I get a better result on the masking without having to hand paint the masking in the cracks?
Here is the sculpted model;

Any tips or ideas as to how to get some better results?
Thanks in advance!

In the Tool>Masking menu, have you tried adjusting the settings related to Mask by Cavity? (Blur, Intensity and especially the Cavity Profile curve.)

You should also check out the CavityMask feature (and its settings) in the Brush>Auto Masking menu.

Hey aurick thanks for the quick reply.
Im pretty sure Im doing something wrong with these settings because I dont see any change in the masking. The only visable changes to the mask is when I adjust the intensity or blend.
Is the Cavity Profile curve the same profile curve that is under Brush>Auto Masking>CavityMask?
Is there another way to enable to mask? Ive tried messing with the curve quite a bit but when I go back to Tool>Masking>Mask by Cavity I get the same results.
I get the jist of the profile curve, similar to the way the surface noise curve works, it just doesnt seem to be applying to my model.

You can use the cavity map alpha and export it to a 3d app for rendering then adjust the opacity to get the look you like.

Oh and you might need to invert your cavity mask to get the look you want.
