Can't change the Normal map intensity

Hi, I’m having problems with Normal and Bump maps (as always!!!).
I use GoZ to transfer the mesh to Maya and the maps come assigned properly. But the values are a little bit off and when I try to change them they are yellowed and can’t be changed. Why is that and how can I change them?
I prefer not to mess with the color balance, is there a way to change the actual normal and bump value?
What’s your best workflow for importing meshes with maps assigned? beacuse since Zbrush 3 I just can’t get them right.
I watched a lot of tutorials (DT, gnomon), and still can’t get a single mesh right.

Do you mean the color value is off? I am not sure what you mean by yellowed and can’t be changed. Maybe a Screen Shot would help.

A easy way to increase/decrease the intensity of a normal map without re-rendering is using a program like Crazy Bump or the Nividia plugin for Photoshop.
