Bruce Willis (DieHard 4)

Hi!

First of all Happy new Year for every Zbrush user

Let me introduce my new character.
The DieHard series was my favorite movie from Bruce and after I saw it’s last episode I started to thinking about a new Zbrush model. I know modelling a movie star is very hard because everibody knows him but I like challenges

I’ve started to work on it about 1 month ago but it’s still not finished. Textures are coming.

Here is the Zbrush shot:

i think the stubble on the head and face needs toned down a bit, it makes him look very lumpy and unnatural

very nice. I have a question, this shot looks like it is taken right out of Zbrush. How did you get the smoke out of the pistol? Is that added in photoshop or is there a way to do in zbrush. looking great.

Model and cloth details are great. but i think body needs some mass and head needs some work with little bump on his nose? i like it soo far

You got a nice sculpt going there. I like his well ballanced weight and gesture.

I agree, more mass around the sholders and arms, and make the fingers a tad thicker.

Like to see a close up of the head please.

this is a great sculpt, but like others have said- the likeness isn’t really there yet. you’re on the right track though, keep it up!

Thx the replys!

I’ve started to work on his face textures and shader. I think it will helps me to make his details better.

Digital_Vulture you alright!

adio38 the smoke is a post paint in photoshop  I thought the shot become more exciting with this.

wow nice work dude…your bruce willis is looking real good. Mind if I ask what kind of references did you use?

Coming on better, good update.

Just somthing that comes to mind looking at it a bit longer, the crease coming from the nose towards the mouth seems a bit tight and hard.

You have a nice lighting setup, and texture. A year ago this would have been toprow, and got alot more interest than has been shown so far. Keep on it and keep us posted.

this is turning out very nice. The textures are really starting to come together.

wonderfull job dude;)

Looking pretty good. I would really step back from the texturing and take time to nail the likeness in the sculpt. I would not recognize him as Bruce right now. You might also post on another forum without saying who it is, if you want to know how close you are. Just MHO.

This looks really good and it has a nice pose and feel. I would re-examine the face with a million fine tooth combs. At a distance, it looks like Bruce, but in the closeups, not so much. Nowadays, Bruce has been done SOOOOO many times, and there have been some that have hit him spot on, and if you do this, you have to match that level in the sculpt. The first render at the top of this thread looks more like him than the rest. It may be that the level of detail or antialiasing setting, but that one is closer than the rest. The form and gesture is great, but if you really want to get peoples attention, you HAVE to get this guy absolutely perfect. Push yourself and be over critical. You’ve proven that you have the skills to do this, now make it happen!

Fantastic model

Thx for the helps!

In the last few days I worked a lot on his face. I tryed to draw the important parts and saw a lots of photos of him.

Better than the previous one but still needs more work. I think he looks like a ‘Luke Wilson + Bruce Willis’ mix. I would also tweak his ears and neck.

That’s a very very good sculpt you have going there - there’s something still about the mouth and eyes that doesn’t register 100 percent Willis - but you can tell right away it’s him, and it’s excellent work.

did you model the clothes (the folding) and holdster, etc, in a standard pose and then move him into this pose, or did you model it straight into this pose?

also, what subdivision level are you at here?
