Boromir Model

Hi guys!
I want to share my 3rd zbrush model. I’m still learning :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve been working on this model to try to push my skills. I’ll add the arrows tomorrow, but more or less the model is finished.
I’ll update this post this weekend with more renders.

All done with max/zbrush and vray for rendering (renderd in msdos for mermory problems  )
I hope you like it and c&c are really welcome!

Thanks in advice!!

Hey, great start to your model, Fog, and well composed too :+1:

Watch out for the angle of his left hand (holding the swords hilt)… for all but the most limber contortionists this is physically impossible (near 90 degrees),
but should be easily remedied on levels 1 (and 2 maybe)… I reckon no more than 55 degrees max angled down would ‘feel’ better on the eye

Angle the hand up, and then individually angle each finger outwards more and more towards the index, which should be the most ‘open’

It should then make your composition all the stronger, as the flow-line from the thumb to index to the warriors brow-line would be more fluent

Hi guy very good model, for your 3rd model in zbrush its very good
continue updating:D

Man, great subject and great pose! For the final picture: are you gonna change the camera angle? I’m still a novice at most 3D work, but all the books say the silhouette should tell the story. Maybe if you move and turn the camera to the left a bit, the sword and swordarm will be better visible. I guess it’s an important arm to see, 'cause most of his weight is on it. (understandable if you have an arrow in your liver )
Just love how the detail on your model is only there where it needs to be. More more more!! :+1: :+1:

Yes Atwooki, I know about the angle of his hand… it’s a bit to much. I’ll decrease the angle a bit to have a more natural hand pose. You are 100% right. Thanks for your advice :+1:

Plakkie, I didn’t thought about the silhouette. you are right, the silhouette that I actually have is crap  Yes If I turn arround the model a bit, I’ll see the blank space between the sword and the body and it will help to understand better the pose.

Thanks a lot guys for your help! I appreciate !!

Maybe the force of supporting his weight on one point’s got the wrist bent past what we would think “normal”…just tried it myself and mine’ll bend that far with a little curl in, & I’m a regular guy. People at the point of death do push the limits.

Food for thought.

You’ve captured Sean Bean’s face perfectly. Splendid stuff. :+1:

Thats a very nice model. I really like the expresion. Cant wait to see it textured!

Nice start. I was going to point out the left hand, but as usual Atwookie beat me to it.
