While I don’t believe there is a single best way to make realistic eyes, there are some very good free eye modeling/texturing/rendering video tutorials on thegnomonworkshop.com. I believe you have to register a free account to view them first. Nstine is correct. The Gnomon tutorials by Alex Alvarez are superb but require using a program called ‘Maya’. If you are working in ZBrush, start with Pixolator’s thread. Here is the link:

Thanks nstine and SNARK! The info is great and very useful. I don’t have Maya but wish I did, I do have Blender but ZBrush is so awesome I can’t tear myself away from it.

Ah yea, I should have pointed out that the tutorials were for maya. However, the information should for the most part be applicable to other 3d applications.
