Hey Folks
I’m soon going to travel from UK to Asia, I’ll be out there for some time, a year or more hopefully.
I can make pocket money via Zbrush making/texturing models currently and would like to continue that, on the move.
I have looked at some of these new 2 in 1 laptops / portable artist studio devices, as they potentially free the need for GFX Tablet, or do they?
Has anyone any experience with pushing high poly projects on any of these?
Wacom Mobile Studio Pro
HP Spectre X360 range
Lenovo Yoga range
Dell XPS range.
The trouble is, I want to use Zbrush even if on a bus/plane, which would normally require a keyboard and tablet. All of these ‘solutions’ make me wonder how well I can navigate and use zbrush without Alt or Shift etc. The Wacom Mobile studio looks best at solving these issues potentially - as it works with wacoms usual buttons at side of tablet/screen.
Also no driver issues or compatibility problems as we all love wacom! I’m sure I could adapt to that system, but is it a decent machine in itself or more aptly described as a cintiq with adequate windows computer power behind it?
What about HP Spectre or Lenovo Yoga though? - they don’t have such wacom buttons on the side, also i believe they use a different driver system, so you need to use the keyboard presumably. (In which case you might as well use a normal laptop and take tablet with you). That makes for heavier bag and you couldn’t work on your lap.
Has anyone ever tried any of the machines in these fancy, 2 in 1, mobile artist studio type machines with Zbush before?
Cheers!
