Base model for sculpting human body

Hi,

If you want to make a human body, sculpting all the muscles on the model(using claybuildup brush) what kind of base model should you use? What I’ve see in video’s is that people give their base model the overall shape of the human body. Is this correct? Isn’t this base model already influenced by all the musclegroups? Shouldn’t you use the outlines of the skeleton?
sorry for my poor english.

There is no one only correct way to do things in Zbrush. So probably you will find more usefull to create a skeleton estructure to build the some muscles. It´s a perfect workflow if you want to have a posed character. You can create something like a wire estructures with Zspheres and then use some Zsketch to build muscles or just use a dynamesh object and add spheres with IMM brush and sculpting from that aproach. Like traditional sculptures do. You can almost reproduce inside Zbrush if want
