Although I have plenty of files in my texture, alpha, and tool folders, none of these items show up in the ZB 4.0 light box. Is there a problem with the startup script? I have a 2009 Imac running OS 10.5.8. Any suggestions? Doug
My lightbox is empty also. I am running on a Mac.

If you change all the items in the ZB application folder to read and write privileges, then lightbox should work.
Hello, I have the same problem. Is this guess / help verified? Does it need to bee the root ZBrush4.0 folder or each subfolder for the lightbox content?

schultheis is correct. An empty LightBox indicates incorrect permissions. This will impact ZBrush’s performance in other ways as well.
Please select the ZBrush 4 folder in the Finder and press CMD+I to get info.
At the bottom of the info window, click the lock to unlock permissions. You’ll need to enter your admin password.
Next, select Everyone and assign the Read & Write permission. Then click the gear under the list and choose the option to apply to contained items. When done, just lock permissions again.
If Everyone already has Read & Write permission, change it to something else, apply to contained items, change it back and apply again.
This should resolve your issue.
I really want to use the Lightbox feature, but it doesn’t show any subfolders on OSX. Do I really have to put all my hundreds of alphas and materials in the same folder? Is this just a bug that can be fixed?
@ TOKOLOSH…I’m on PC and we call them Shortcuts, but on OSX, I believe they are called Alias. Did you try making an Alias to your alpha and texture folders and putting that in the ZAlphas or ZTextures folders? Again, I’m on PC so i’m not absolutely positive it will work. Just a suggestion.
Thanks Zber2 for the suggestion, I just tried it and no cigar. Doesn’t work. I also made sure that the folders have read and write permissions. Must be a bug…
Almost more than the brilliant looking features in zb4 r2, I HOPE they have given us mac users the ability to do the web search with lightbox and finally the ability to have folders or shortcuts as my directories are a mess.
Any news on these features being added from the pc version?
