I’m new to zbrush and I’ve been working on just roughing out my first head. I also have a DVD on sculpting a human head in zbrush that I’ve been using to help me. How do you more seasoned veterans get your proportions right? I’ve not seen a way in zbrush to use guidelines or a grid. Let me know if that’s possible, otherwise, I’d be interested in other suggestions. It amazes me that most of the tutorial videos I’ve seen the artist seems to just eyeball it.
head proportions are the same in 2d as 3d… do a search for andrew loomis… you’ll be able to find all his books online as pdfs (they’re out of print).
in particular, fun with a pencil has a good breakdown.
