Love this! Amazing sculpt.
Would love to see some work in progress on this piece. like how you did the scales or wrinkles, for example.
Can I print this and have it on my desk?
Thank you for posting! :mechanical_arm: :trophy:

Hi, thanks  im happy you like it.

I never remember to keep images of my progress :frowning: although im going to start trying to do it from now on and share them here and on other social media so there is not much i can visually show unfortunatly

I can say that i started with Zspheres to block out the inital shape and then built up a blockout from there, trying to get all the main shapes and forms in before going in to the finer details.

The wrinkles are a combination of sculpting and a few brushes/alphas ive either made or gathered over the years. normally ill add in main wrinkles that make sence based on the type of creature usually around joints and in this case the loose neck skin that hangs down, once these are blocked in all use alphas and custom brushes to add more detail and then ill go over the top of that again with dam standard in order to add and blend the details together better.

For the scales i seperated out the part of the mesh that needed scales and added UVs, i then adjusted the UVs in order to get the correct flow needed for the scales. i did the UVs in a program called RizomUv which i use in my daily work for the games industry as it give me a lot of control and is really easy and quick to use.
Once the UVs were done i used the surface noise feature with UVs turned on and a custom scale pattern i have, At first i was not happy with the scales so i ended up scuplting over each one individually with the Dam standard which took a few hours lol, way longer than i though it would :stuck_out_tongue:

When i make another creature ill try and record or keep the parts so i can show my process in the future.

and yes, you can print this and have it on your desk  ill be realesing the files soon and ive just glued mine together so i can take a photo later and ill add it here

here is a pic of one of the parts as it just came off the printer
