32 bit image editing software or plugins???

I’m trying edit some my 32 bit Alpha depth independant Displacement maps but I cant for the life of find an image editing software or plugin that allow you too edit (ie paint merge multiple files together etc.) 32 bit images. PS 9 alloows you to open them and scale the canvas size but thats about it. I’ve heard that a version of Gimp for linux can edit 32 bit images but as I’m running windows. If not what settings should I use for the gamma and pedastal when I convert them to 16 bit images in CS2. Thanks alot in advance.

as far as I know, CinePaint can do it. It’s open source (I believe). You can download it from http://cinepaint.movieeditor.com/

I checked out cinepaint but at the moment its only for MAC and Linux. I wonder if theres a way to get it to run on a windows PC, maybe Via a boot disk version of Linux. Thanks alot.

Photogenics HDR is capable of editing 32 bit images and is available for the PC platform as well as Linux and Amiga.

Here’s the product page: http://www.idruna.com/photogenicshdr.html

Perhaps that may be of use to you.

Thanks
Does anyone know how o use Photgenics, I cant seem to copy one layer to another image as you would in photoshop. without this functionality the software is basically useless.
