**** ZBrush 3.5 R3 for Windows Released

I think it’s great the new version, but when will the Mac version, that and cash it has the same price but since 3.5 came out the windows have not seen the mac and you are on the R3, I think the mac We are kidding :angry:small_orange_diamond:angry:small_orange_diamond:angry:small_orange_diamond:(:frowning:

Yeah!!

All this work… - and again for free!
The amount of innovation coming from you guys is really amazing!
There some tools I wish I would have had a long time ago and then there are some tools I never even dreamt of

Cheers Pixologic!

I got the same, so PIXO isn’t ready yet. This is a busy week for most of us anyway, I just hope to be able to crack it open on T-Day.

If you have a Windows ZB license, sure! Provided you have an Intel Mac (most Mac users these days) and a copy of a Windows OS. I suspect the number of people with all three is vanishingly small though.

Finally their is a form of booleans in zbrush! This will defiantly be a valuable tool when creating hard surface shapes.

I feel mac users’ pain, but I also don’t think they’ve been missing all that much yet. I personally still use 3.1 because of all the bugs and horribly implemented new features in 3.5, not to mention the myriad missing features that are only now being added (still can’t see zmapper or equivalent goz gimmick). Lets hope this one is a bit better, and that they would start living up to their promises soon.

Thats splendid Zbrush is more lovely than my gf

Actually unless you want to buy a 2nd Win license of Zbrush on top of your Mac one Pixologic is not doing what they did with 3.1. Giving the mac users temp windows installs to run in the time being on their intel macs. I had to explicitly choose OSX by support when I was initially getting the WIN download links for 3.5 back in September, or surrender my mac license. At the time I had hoped that meant the wait would be short.

To be fair, 3.2 (osx) I think was a more solid release than 3.5 r1, and r2. With R3 3.5 is now production ready.

I love my zBrush, and I really want these new features, but this really doesn’t surprise me at this point with the Mac version.

The thing that kinda irks me the most is how they parlayed all the blame on 3 being so late was that they were redoing it in a way so that from now on there could be SIMULTANEOUS WINDOWS AND MAC RELEASES.

SO much for that. Guess I’ll get it sometime next fall. We won’t see 3.5 I’m pretty sure at this point. 4 will more than likely release for windows in late december early january and then there will be a whole new round of reasons the mac version isn’t out yet.

I truly appreciate the upgrades and such being free pixo, but jesus I’d pay you a 50 dollar upgrade fee just to have them released ANYWHERE near the stated timeframes.

Coming from a traditional sculpting background I"m pretty excited about zSpheres2 and the hard surface modeling.

ZApplink is not shown in the vid but it’s stated below that all the plugins from 3.1 will be in this new update

Thanks, Pixologic, for new features and corrections (the clay brush used with symmetry on).

For the sake of curiosity, have we have to wait the cleverbridge email to know when/where download own copy as we did in past? Thanks.

Mac users will not be getting temporary windows licenses for 3.5 as we did with 3.1. We would have to buy a windows license.

That said, I agree that 3.2 has been production ready and rock solid for quite some time now. Meanwhile, I’ve heard so many windows users say they are using 3.1 in production instead, whether it be due to bugs or missing features in 3.5. That’s been for months. So I think this was a necessary release for windows, even though I’m green with envy for these new features! At least we will all have something more powerful than 3.1 that is fully usable in real production. I’m sure bouncing around between versions has been a pain since the ztl’s aren’t backward compatible.

Now THAT said, screw the holiday, forget your families, I want you ALL workin’ around the clock until I have my fully featured mac v3.5 or v4 up and running! Then, of course, you may sleep. Except for aurick, paul, and marcus, they have to answer my dumb questions. Hope you all like coffee.

This is really amazing stuff. As stated by others, the amount of new things to use or try is overwhelming, but sincerely appreciated. I’m thinking that the need for several full time Pixologic instructors will needed just to keep us users in the flow. The prospect of having all of the 3.1 plugins will be a god send.
Again thanks for all of your hard work and inspiration,
Gary

what a great surprise! thx

Supposedly those of us that already own a license will be able to use our existing link from the original purchase email, but it doesn’t seem to work yet. At least it didn’t when I left home an hour ago.

Looks again like a quite solid release with great new features.

My only issue: The Mac version is quite overdue now, and knowing that you worked on that release the last weeks it looks like we may not even get it for christmas.

As great as it is that I got all my updates for free… it’s simply sad seeing all the new features for months now without much hope to use them.

So, please Santa… (we promise to be neat to old ladies this winter)

Kabe

…all of you Mac users, you know Pixo won’t leave you hangin’.

“Soon, very soon”. Meaning we’ll get 3.5 about the time Pixo rolls out 4.0 for the PC.
