Thanks all. I’ll bear that in mind about the thickness of the claws.
A quick update showing an early colour test and some minor mods to the model.

THIS IS SO GOOD! keep up the great work!
Your model is so good, I had to make this. Hope you like it.
Looks good!
i love the base mesh, love the zbrush screen grabs too.
theres just one thing that bothers me. A lot…it just looks too perfect.
theres no veins, nothing that stands out. the muscles look pretty basic and some of the anatomy is off around the neck and arms. the torso looks weird. his abdominal muscles are too perfect as well. usually when someone leans foward all the pec muscles are not going to be the same size.there will be a small buildup of fatty tissue as well… the suit is ultra tight. not one wrinkle at all…
sorry to nitpick. I just think that this model has a Lot of potential.
the pose looks great. like the boots and the head looks great too.
just looks too damn smooth. reminds me of a cartoon rather than a sculpture.
sorry if im too harsh. if this is an intended style then forget my comments.
Id highly recommend
anatomy strength training
has some really good reference for sculpting muscle groups.
Cool, but I never really understand why the clothing doesn’t look like it’s over skin. The muscles are so defined it looks like the skin has the coloring of the costume, instead of fabric over the skin.
Neverink, Your crits are definitely justified BUT this Wolverine is the BEST one I have seen and I’ve seen em all. While everyone tries to make their own version he takes the comic book Jim Lee Wolvie verbatim and executes him flawlessly. Zbrush doesn’t have to be all about micro-detail.
That being said some veins and wrinkles wouldn’t hurt but arent really necessary. Sorry if I came off as being a harsh.
@Verde - Thanks for the positive comments. I really like your rework and am flattered that you took the time to do it. It’s definitely an interesting idea for the presentation of the final model. I particularly like the steaming breath, you’ve got me thinking about a snow scene now, ala Weapon X…
@Derek Frenzo - Cheers
@nerveink - Thanks for the constructive criticism, your points are totally valid. The lack of veins/creases/imperfections is a stylistic decision. As SEGAHOLIC points out, my intention was to translate the Jim Lee version of Wolverine into 3D as faithfully as possible; he tends not to draw veins and wrinkles, hence I haven’t included any. I must admit that I’m not sure it’s totally working at this point and I may decide to try a version with those sorts of details, or perhaps experiment some more with the rendering style.
@SEGAHOLIC - Thanks (and see above!)
Very beautiful model! I think it would work best with a comics/drawing kind of rendering… Give it a try, it would come closer to the Jim Lee Style you are looking for…
Quick update. Added a ground plane and did a new slightly more refined colour test. Still no wrinkles or veins though

Looks good! I could see this as a 3D print, or collectible statue.
Very nice sculpt!!
Like it! Good job, the model seems really pleasuring.
Looks great man. Im glad you dont go into lots of wrinkles and stuff. This clean style suits the comic style well! Maybe it will look cool with a subtle black outline in the final render?
This is a fantastic Wolverine! Good job
this guy looks very classic, great job man. brings back good memories
where can i donwload this model to print whit my 3d printer
Sweet wolverine Nolan_R when I saw the brown suit it stopped me in my metaphorical tracks .
