Win Tab Services not available (resolved)

You also have in your application folder (on Win or Mac) a wacom preference utility software, in which you can save your preferences, or reset them. Try to remove your preference, uninstall the driver, reboot, install the driver, then plug the tablet.
Before launching ZBrush, open the driver and see if the pressure is working. IF yes, launch ZBrush.

I have that issue too. My tablet isnt a wacom one. It’s lapazz. Though i installed the latest driver, even disabled “pen tablet bus enumerator”; the warning window is still appearing when is launched the program, zb.

.installed the latest driver for the tablet
.disabled “tablet pc components” and “pen tablet bus enumerator”

The tricky one is that i couldnt find the tablet driver’s name in device manager, under the mice and other pointing devices panel. When i disabled either drivers in Human Interface Devices and Mice-otherpointingdevices, my mouse is gone. The problem is being caused by the fact that use tablet option in ZB is active. I cant deactivate it because it is unavailable to make a change due to the fact that the tablet is not plugged in.
The tablet is in another york right now:D

Jag27,

I got the same service not available tab as well, after several tries I came to this board and decided to unplug my tablet, and plug it back in, and the program opened functionally after that…weird. That worked for me.

Eric

if u cant resolve this problem what so ever dont click on error message, just hit enter fast and it wont bother u as much as clicking :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for answering my questions before I asked them…

So, I don’t mean to bring this topic up again, but I’ve tried EVERY solution here and nothing works.

Simply put, I’m just bought ZBrush 4.0 and upon running it, I received the 24 Win Tab error messages. I can ONLY make them go away if I plug my tablet in, but I do not wish to use my tablet.

The tablet is made by a company called Trust. I’ve tried reinstalling and updating the drivers, stopping the recommended services, and a bundle of other things mentioned on this thread. Any other solutions?

Any one using an Old Graphire 1 Mint USB still?
It’s what I have, but Wacom is not supporting it under Windows 7 64 bit, and Zbrush 4 just draws blocks with it.

In the Driver Control Panel everything appears to work Ok.

If I can’t get this working, I really want a cheap NON Wacom Tablet to replace it now. I’m real short on funds and very pissed that a perfectly functional tablet is not being minimally supported.

I have just bought an Aiptek 1400U A4 tablet. I found out this is a re badged version of the Waltop Media Tablet. When I launched ZBrush 4 I got the “Wintab Services not available error”. I could not access the Tablet sub menu in ZBrush either. I tried reinstalling the latest driver from Aiptek - v4.14 and got the same error. I found a newer driver from the Waltop site v4.15. Restarted and same error.

Finally, I discovered I still had the old drivers on my PC for my cheap LaPaiz Tablet. So. I uninstalled those. Then, reinstalled the Waltop v4.15 - restarted and BINGO! Zbrush launches with no error and I can configure my Tablet from the submenu option in ZBrush too.

There have been a number of very good suggestions on this thread and it is possible that the MacroKey Manager bundled with some software (as I have) may contribute to this error. But, I currently have the MacroKey Manager running and all is well. It supports my dual monitors fine.

What I have discovered is that if you get the error (assuming the tablet is ZBrush compatible) make sure you UNINSTALL your tablet software first from the Windows Programs Control Panel (I have Windows 7 64 bit) and then reinstall the latest drivers.

For those who still have problems after trying all the above in this thread I suggest removing ZBrush and reinstalling it on another PC or Mac with the latest operating system software then install the tablet software and see what happens. If you do not get the error on a different computer then the problem is with the operating system on your old computer. Try removing all unnecessary drivers and programs which may be contributing to the tablet driver conflict. Failing that, call your PC and Mac tech support and ask them to talk you through a clean install of Windows or Mac OS X. You will probably have to reinstall your programs and USB device drivers afterwards (like the tablet) but at least you will have a workable operating system.

One final note : never perform any system troubleshooting before a BACKUP first. You have been warned.

Good luck

I have this lame tablet, a genius 8x6, but for some reason, other softwares (newest verisons of photoshop, all versions of 3ds max) won’t accept pressure control from it. zbrush still does, but the tablet is kinda bad, I’m nog tonna to use anymore. problem is zbrush will return this win tab error if tablet is disconnected. I tried uninstalling it’s drivers, but still same error. I can only use zbrush with the tablet plugged. it takes space in my desk, and a usb port i could use for something else. can’t connect it only to use zbrush.

any clues how to solve this error?
