stunning weapons man, crazy designs
really nice work, can you show us how you rendered them?
ExtraCool Stuff mate!!! I love this kind of models!!!
My Compliments…
Bye
I have looked at this several times now and still getting goosebumps, I really do. The desing is simply amazing, goes from the screen directly into my mind, exploding the deatail all over my brain. Very impressive. x5
Some of the best looking detailed weapons I have ever seen. I was wondering why did you spend so much time pushing and pulling Verts in Maya when you already had a good simple base poly mesh ready that you created from your original zbrush quick sculpt? Why not take the simple box model you created im Maya back into Zbrush and sculpt all your details there and retopologize if nessessary? Wouldn’t that be easier and a lot faster?
Just wondering. Creating all those detailed and complex shapes in Maya is a pain as it is. No?
Ether way. It looks awesome. Great work man!
thanks man for the pics…!
i will now investigate further and give it a try , i ask because i hate re-topoing after the main scupt. You way seems to be a easier way to get a better mesh. and ultimately a better sculpt.i am always looking to speed up my workflow.
i wish you could just “paint” the topo and one click convert it to a mesh…
2 alesogil thnx pal
2 joe55 nothing special it’s a simple matcap from the matcap library gw_worn_silver.ZMT and some color correction in PS
2 madmatt big thanks!
2 goNE thanks a lot
2 mokthemagicman thnx a lot
u know if i’ve had a nice concept drawing at first it will be no problem for me to sculpt the whole thing in zbush but all i’ve had at the start is some blurry thoughts and crappy scetches. I’ve tried to sculpt the handgun in zbrush at first but i wasn’t happy with the result the design was pretty weak and then i’ve decided to make the whole thing in the old fashioned polygon modeling manner maybee it was just my own personal difficulty in z but anyway they look pretty cool and i made them in maya what else can i say.
here is some final things for this weapon set a chain sword and some knives

Wicked weapons!!
very cool designs
Badass designs!
Oh yum!!
Very impressive! What parts are separate objects? It almost looks like all the weapons are one cohesive piece, although there’s got to be some individual pieces. That’s some mad modeling though. Can’t wait to see more!
Sweet, boys and their toys. Where can I buy these guns? nice design… keep it up.
Great job!
Where can I buy these weapons? I want them! Haha.
2 GregStrangis,Dman3d,SixxPixels,Mahlikus The Black thanks a lot guys!
2 Zangst what do u mean separate objects? I’am not sure that i’ve understand u correctly. There are tons of different objects in this models
2 mutte696, mokthemagicman lol thanks! i think we should wait a couple of years before they start to sell such guns
2 Veles thanks pal!
Awesome weapons, I do have some critiques for you on the chainsaw sword thingy.
The chain isn’t constructed correctly (at least by standard chainsaw chain construction) http://www.jackssmallengines.com/graphics/chainsawparts/chainsaw_chain_large.gif

Of course if you’re going for a styalized look, I love it. I can’t seem to find any good pictures of how a chain is actually made up, but if you really want I can get some stuff from work (I’m a small engine mechanic by day) I can see hwat I can do for you.
Jamie
man you truly have next gen talent when it comes to design. excellent flow and line to the pieces
Beautiful and inspiring work Nick. Love the designs and how you showcase them in different configurations on your presentation sheets, especially the SMG with the tactical grip down and the butt extended. I can almost feel what it would be like to hold it.
I really like how, despite the complexity of the designs, you’ve managed to make sure nothing feels frivolous; every part feels like it serves a structural or functional purpose in addition to just plain looking cool.
The wireframes are equally beautiful; so clean and neat, all the parts fitting so perfectly together. Makes the OCD part of me sigh with relief
g’day,
i have been trying to work out this “make surface live” thing , i assume you use the modify>make live command in maya?
then what?
do you just use this mesh as a guide? how do you start the modelling process from this mesh?
i was fiddleing around with the “subdiv proxy” command but i just get a more dense mesh from the orginal which isnt what i want.
i dont like useing the decimation master as a mesh reduction tool as the mesh is all messy.
after you bring the zsketch into maya how do you do the modelling part?
any tips would be most grateful man…
