THE RiSiNG (eva 01 head)

Wow…how on earth did I miss this one…such a great work! Thank you for sharing!

Seb: You ought to be working on the live action movie for Evangelion. Nice to see Yoshiyuki Sadamoto character designs being realized by one of the zbrushcentrals resident experts. Very cool to know your a fan of japanese manga/anime. Funny I just clicked on the image in the bottom row so had no clue what the thread was about. When I saw the first images at the start of thread I was like “hey those teeth look like something from evangelion”, just goes to show you nailed it from the start. Fantastic job, can’t wait to see more. :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Thx for the comments, here’s a close up of the upper plugs.
base mesh from max, detailing in zbrush.

Brilliant… Goes to show the power of projection master even now.

very very nice :sunglasses:

very nice! Love the detail :+1:

Nice as always.
I’m curious though…for the last piece, why not make the base mesh in Z?..Unless you already have all pieces made within max and you are just importing.

I could have, but I’m not super good as modling in zbrush, and I wanted to control my edges precisely to be very optimised.
I surely could have done in in ZB, but it just took me 3 minits to do in max, with a very precise control of the flow so…

Gotcha. Yeah, if you aren’t familiar (let alone comfortable) with box modeling in z then I too would step outside for certain initial
mesh gen.

I love the way this is progressing!:+1:

I’m a huge fan of the series but NOT the Evangelion 1.0 movie.

So… it looks like you’re bringing in pieces ad hoc for sculpting in ZB, is that your preferred method or particular to this subject matter?

I’ve been wrapping my head around the Maya to ZBrush workflow and became very curious when I didn’t see a “completed” low poly mesh for your amazing EVA build.

Please feel free to redirect me if you’ve already addressed this somewhere else.

Thanks!

Cool thread… Love the way you do all that deatiling…

Long time no update, I was so busy at work…
her,s a small updated, the inside helmet is almost finished.
The tubings are make in projection master using Zsphere.

Nice work dude, going to be pretty epic when its finished.

How long you spending on average on a panel like that ?

Nice stuff man thats hot

Of course ! Everybody can see that !!!
You are not that good … You, kidder, have a certain sens of humour ?

Michel

Cool to see more work being done on this! I always get a kick out of seeing you push PM the way you do!

thanks for the update! NickZ.

Haha, nah, what I mean by modeling is box modeling etc…
Theres few modeling tools in zbrush, extrude, box modeling, retopology etc…
But I barely use them. I mostly use sculpting or projection. Thats what I meant

I’m still clueless as to how you do this. Care to give a little info on your workflow?

Wow, what a fantastic piece so far. Really suit up to Sadamoto’s design. The details is just uberly amazing too.
I can’t wait to see more of it !
