ok new update with colors added. i hope to use these colors and make them into textures for the final renderng and work in maya. hopefully this will work and i’ll be able to rig and animater her. i still have another wardrobe after this with her robe on. oy. crit if you can guys. i probably need to tweak but dont know what i need to fix. cheers all.
quick question: anyone know how to texture eyes? my eyes are looking not so great and i need to figure out the way to texture them. oh and does anyone a good way to make a robe such as the one that is in the concept sketch? peace.

ok so i was graciously told by a friend that he will be trying to find info on books i can buy for anatomy. WOOT!? SCORE! im so scyked now. now this project will soar once i get those books. maya i dont have to worry about. im really skilled in that, zbrush is the program i need more practice in and these books will help. HOORAY!
ok so here it is the deal. im not going to post anymore updates for awhile on this thread until my newly bought intuos3 tablet comes in the mail and the anatomy books are given to me or i have to purchase them. im thinking, if i have those at my disposal, the updates will turn out alot better than they were. and so, the model of francine will be redone over. next update will have a new and improved look for francine. everything will hopefully be proportional when i get these assets. once francine is finished, i will then begin on the other characters as well. have a great day everyone.
keep the updates coming. Here is an exersise that you can do to help develop your ability to convert what you see onto a page or your Zbrush screen. this should help you out.
pick a pc of fruit or an object from the house, somthing with some simple forms, even a childs squeeze toy. put some light to it with a desk lamp so you can get some shadows, and see the profile of the piece, then before you start sculpting you draw, draw just the profile of the piece but nothing in the middle. do some quick line drawings but don’t shade it yet. turn the piece four or five times and draw the profile each time. fill your hole page with little profiles and keep truning the piece, when the whole page is filled, then turn the pc and find the first profile, and fill in the shading. match each profile and then fill it in with its shading.
do this before you sculpt in zbrush every time. choose a different object every time and don’t spend more that 10 minutes for each page including the shading. concider it a warmup before you sculpt.
this will keep you looking for profiles looking for shading and you will see a difference in your sculpting because your looking for the same things when you sculpt.
do it every day of this contest and you will see a huge improvment in your work. good luck, your work has potential. post the warm ups before you post your zbrush work and you will see the difference in the warm ups and the sculpt over the whole contest. i will check back and if you want to stop in and ask questions do so post your brains out, and i wll help you out were i can.
threetails - thanks for the compliment man. i do want to keep the updates coming its just theyre not that great atm until i get my tablet. besides, francine definitely needs a work over. i think this time around her proportions will be ten times better than they are now. again thank you for your support threetails. ill see if i cant get the updates started again for this thread.

alright, so, i am going to restart with the updates with this thread, now that my anatomy skills i think are honed now and i think i have an idea of what to do. i will start with again some sketches of the characters, fair warning though, the body parts may still not be drawn to proportion seeing as how my drawing skills still need honed more for proportionality. i might be better doing it now 3d than i do it 2d. :lol: but i digress, the first one will be francine again. here are the list of characters that i hope to be doing in zbrush for maya use:
- Francine
- Harabec Weathers
- Caanon Weathers.
- Samuel
- Otobe
- Any other Human Characters I haven’t named yet. (I still haven’t come up with the names.

- Cybrids
Now the Cybrids will be really interesting to do in this program seeing as how they are mechanical/organic creatures. They are sentient machines so i will have a tough time with those. next update will have a few francine sketches and a profile. if no profile, it will be made later. the profile i had for her before wasn’t all that good so I’m redoing it. later folks. keep zbrushing out there.
Edit: Oh almost forgot, anyone who knows how to do the inverted zspheres for the head, plz send me a message about it cause I’m not sure on how to do it at all.
ok here is the first sketch. this is francine in her sexy outfit. no im no pervert. there is a love scene in the first movie, so she is going to dress the part for it. . im still trying to do more sketches for her yet so still not ready yet for the first base mesh. profile will be coming shortly. i havent got the time yet to do it so i’m going to do it as soon as i can.
p.s. - yes the breasts are large but they wont be on the model. :lol:

ok so i was thinking for awhile for the updates of this thread and i thought well seeing as how there are people doing inanimate objects too in zbrush, why not me try. so i am going to use my maya and zbrush back and forth to make my vehicles as well not just my figures. so for my first new update before i start again on francine which i hope will be alot better than before, is my apocalypse Mark IV (my design). the main body was imported from maya but the shoulders and weapons i did in zbrush. still need a ton of work but this is the first step. C+C is appreciated.

hio2009 - thanks mate. im most likely going to do some realistic tanks and aircraft for those ones. the ones that one get realistic proportions will be the hercs or mechs if you want to call them that as well.
ok so it has been awhile since i did my last update. sorry about that. been working on my action hero contest entry and doing school work at the same time. here is a new update. the ATHENA! i tried to import it into zbrush but it kept giving me errors so i have no idea why but i will try to keep pressing on. i have made a list on which hercs i am supposedly going to make after these 2 that im still working on (the apocalypse and the athena). here is a list of their names:

sorry i havent been around everyone. i have been getting quite ill and i have missed classes cause of it and i need to get back into it or i will be failing classes. anyway, im sorry for not finishing nightfall. with my health more important i couldnt do it. however, i do wish to begin on other projects aside from this big one i am doing. what i have in mind is either doing some of my favorite comic book characters or video game characters as a side project. possibly well known characters. havent decided on what but it should be an undertaking. laterz.
