Seaquest DSV.........Zbrush Masters, I need help with this model, a submarine

i can get the scale in the end, just need to maintain the details. now we are using an alpha to apply my bio-skin pattern onto the model, it sorta works, but overlaps and doesn’t like certain areas of the model… I had him do a skin test for the texture…this also will need to output on the 3d printed model
…any tutorials or thoughts to do this, it should cover the entire model… screen grab from the series and my coreldraw bio-skin
thank you,
Will

ok, let me see if i understand this…so i create uv’s for all the parts, unfold, then apply texture, is this a 3d texture applied like shown in my skin test photo ??? it has to be raised, will this uv mapping do this?
thank you,

Will

is there a way to select polygons individually iin Zbrush???

Zoom in, have a small draw size or use select lasso or whatever…

Set document size to something reasonable then you can use Grab doc and export the image without the UI. Sometimes it’s good as they are if we need to see your settings…

Hello,
another issue I need help with please…is there a way to fine tune/adjust the alpha orientation, ie angle, before releasing the mouse button which permanently adds the alpha even if it has the wrong angle. This was a problem i ran into applying the windows to the Seaquest hull

Cheers,
Will

ok, help…when we make recessed holes then Dynamesh it fills the previous recessed holes, is there a way to preserve these holes so they don’t fill in. we really don’t want to wait till the end to dynamesh

There’s a button to select named Reproject, is that on?

asking him now

he’s in lightwave at the moment working on a detail, so when he is using Zbrush, does it need to be on to preserve the recesses???

thank you, I told him where to look

She progresses. Boy , I sure am learning an awful lot about this subs’ design. One of the biggest finds is her being asymmetrical top to bottom. This makes for some serious challenges to “make things fit”, ie the fins. It took lots of watching the episodes to come to the realization that the fins aren’t even the same width, the top ones are wider. So you can see in these pics that rear is all but done, finally added the triangles between the fins and got the fins to close to their minimum position, though this was only to get the triangles, normally she has them slightly splayed as will this one. we are finalizing the satellite uplink array “button” now, finishing that up…just a little tweeking and its done as well.

ok, lets see here…is there a way to add a sphere to an existing 3d model to take up the space of the old sphere in this case to fill in the spherical shape lost from the original scanned model. Also, say i want to make a window shaped mask a polygroup then i need to " push" the polygrouped windows masks in but at the same depth, is there a way to control that depth, say entering a numerical value to stay constant or something like that??? and on various angles??? shown below is most recent progress

Cheers,
Will

or better yet, is there a way to add a series of windows in rows at different angles all in one shot?

Thanks,
Will
