Another solid application! The Mac version does lag a bit in comparison with the Windows… But an innovative software it is!
yknow, sculptris is an awesome “intro app” in its current form for zbrush proper.
in a lot of ways, in addition to the unique abilities that it has, sculptris feels like a stripped down zbrush with just the core features present.
allows you to work productively and at the same time, makes you long for the more powerful features in zb.
zb in its power can seem somewhat overwhelming and a newb can feel quite lost.
with sculptris, the interface literally takes minutes to learn and primes you for zb by making you want the feature before it is presented to you.
awesome stuff. thanks much!

thanks for the update Pixologic and especially Tomas - love it
I hope the pixolgic team can fix the shoddy obj importer. Seriously Im up to my 50th attempted import and its still spitting out ****ty errors and whining about edges with too many triangles, which there aint.
Shovelware as far as I can see
One major gripe are the weird display of tris, when exporting to Zbrush via
GoZ, there is always some “Noise” on the imported Sculptris meshes.
Other than that, its pretty cool to work with.
The default background is way too dark for me too. Fortunatly it can be changed.
Thanks for keeping this app alive!
cheers,
Matthias
The best for me speaking about the background is to construct a reference composition (same screen resolution) dimmed B&W, and work on it. I do it everytime. One great feature of sc.
Great news! I can`t wait to try it. Installing now…
Did you check your email spam folder?
When can We expect GoZ compatibility with Mac?
Very cool! Sculptris+Zb is a really powerful combination!
Thank you VERY MUCH!!! Im loving it!!
Isn’t that a matter of the irregular mesh density?
Tried that before Alpha 6.
The imported mesh is not smoothed.
The parts with less densitiy will never be nice, even on subdivision.
The original tris will be visible even with some sub level.
@Knacki
the funny is that the less density parts will have the less problem after subdivided. The denser are worst. Have a closer look on the xenoforge’s example.
But there’s a point on your statement. A serious problem after retopology and projection, shrinkwrapping. Try to bake nor or displ maps and have these artifacts there. An ugly tri effect on less denser areas. Now you have to smooth and resculpt details, losing any spontaneous stroke you had in sculptris.
This is very interesting, I’m starting to understand the problem now.
I liked it better when I dident!
GRIN!
Well, tried it and on my home pc it works only when manually export goz format from sculptris, and then import it in zb, and the same in the opposite direction. Anybody the same problem?
It already works on the mac… I have been using it with goz and zbrush no issue.

custom hotkeys? I am left handed and my right hand is toooo far from keyboard shortcuts … Love the program but without custom hotkeys its almost unusable for me
I am making a little progress with this, I have a way to go yet and some things to learn but Im about 1/2 way there I think!
THANK YOU!
Cheers!

I am left handed as well, what keys are you having trouble with?
I found the solution for custom hotkeys in Sculptris: Autohotkey.
If you are left handed, here is a script made for you.
I use this script of Adam Lewis for custom brush-size hotkeys.
