Revvels - Sketches

Hey Droma, your advice was very helpful in rearranging the face. I got a bit lost in the shapes, though, so I’m gonna retry tomorrow :3 I also found another big structural problem as can be seen on the side view, where the distance between the eyes and the nose bridge is ridiculously huge, and that the eyes in itself are a tad on the small side. Tomorrow another day of sculpting

So, I worked on it some more and I hope it’s an improvement. I really need to work on something else for a day or so because I can’t tell whether it’s getting better or worse… Comments and critique desperately needed :stuck_out_tongue:

Much much better. The nasal labial furrow is still cut way too deep for that facial expression. You wouldn’t see that kind of deep crease unless he was doing a big grimace.

Thanks! Even though I had promised myself I wouldn’t continue working on it today… insomnia paved the way to another good tugging around :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s really interesting how changing the planes and where they break makes for such huge differences in the face. Just when you think you got an area right, you look at the whole thing and it’s all jumbled. This stuff is hard :3

now finally some sleep

Fresh eyes this morning has helped, any critique would be very welcome as I’m figuring out this face :3

Omg it looks like a person, lol. Good job on the changes its looking much better.

Quick sketch I did today :3

I’m liking this better than your last piece. I can really tell you kept the anatomy in mind and the style is consistent throughout the piece which is a stumbling block for a lot of people I see doing stuff like this. I think you could work on the collarbone area a little more. Nice expression btw, that is always hard to nail.

Something about this guy reminds me of the elves in the Shadowrun universe. :+1:

Good stuff keep it up!

Hey guys, worked a little more on the hipster dude, but I’m not happy with the overall form yet.

Also I couldn’t help but start a half robot chick, so that’s what I’ve been doing. Started on the body today; haven’t touched the hands yet and the hat and hair are just placeholder. The face isn’t done either :3 Most of the robot is still in blocking save for maybe the feet, let me know what you think!

ha! I really liked the sleeping beauty, also I wonder, do you start from a base head, or do you start from scratch and work your way?

Hey, thanks!

Sometimes I use a absemesh sometimes I go from a squircle (I believe that’s what it’s called?) Today I made this in about an hour and a half or so, and it’s my first time recording a timelapse!

hope you like :3
