Model looks great now you really tied it together congrats on the piece, still working on the full body?
Beautiful work man. I feel like the lips might be a little fat. And the cracks in them feel a little too deep to me. Good stuff though!
Excellent work, this is a great likeness.
The hair is amazing however it was done, and I also like her eyes too.
If you make her and the shot more dynamic (not just staring straight (she makes a nice smirk you could portray)) and make the lighting a bit softer, this will be top row material.
Great peice, very well done.
chill in my spine
awsom work!!
Wow!
Thank’s to all …
Nice Scarlet
See you used a pic from this shoot for the hair.
Would like to see a wireframe too.
Not a criticism, no offense to the author, the work seems excellent and I love it. but I have some doubts
What is the purpose of doing something like this?
because it is not full body, not animated, no rigging?
It good for? only to find a personal taste, or the studios when they see something like this, think that the author is ideal to fill some vacancies. or what?
is for a magazine cover? for
means that if you can do this, can do any thing?
I seriously do not quite understand the function of portraits.
Nice work and congrats on the top row.
A couple of things to note though:
1 the forms of the nose and the lips need more work.
2. the detail on the lips is quite bumpy and id work a bit more on that as well,
3. you need to have more suddel detail on the skin because right now it looks too CG
By that i dont mean Rashes so dont get me wrong.
4 the eyelids need a bit of thickness.
that was about the model itself although it would be nice to see it in other views and try to understand whats going on.
about the shader and the lighting:
- the specularity on the skin looks too plasticy and it is also too strong.
- It would be much nicer if you use reflections as apposed to specularity.
Thanks for posting the photo deckard01. I knew the hair had to be from an actual photo. CG hair doesn’t usually look that good.
@juancaratino It takes some skill to recreate likeness like this… it certainly could be taken to a animation stage.
I don’t think art like this should be dismissed as it has no valid commercial relevance in your eyes.
Nice work… I agree with others the spec is a little savage.
Why is there a need to justify your art work? how about for practice? as a challenge? as a means to improve his likeness studies ?
Not everything needs to serve some production purpose sometimes you just need to take things for what they are, an image , artwork.
Congrats for the top row .Will be very informative if you show the zbrush sculpt or wip images.
And Muslims don’t (or didn’t anyways) understand the function of figurative art at all  I for one think the person who thinks and calls himself an artist isn’t necessarily an artist, and that the one that isn’t in the field of accepted arts isn’t.
If you don’t understand the function of portraits, that’s fine. If you want to know what was the intention of the petson who did it, ask them.
Congrats on the top row! Even though the likeness yadayada
Trust me, I am sure that if he can pull off good quality work for a single frame, he can definitely do the same for animation. Nowadays even if his model is completely Zbrushed it can quickly be retopologized in topogun or similar software. And if hes a modeler portraits are a great way to show off the model.
Outstanding work. The “eye” icon caught my attention not the hair. Eventhough I believe the photo of the hair should be a little more contrast to match the face depth a little bit more, but BRAVO. Stupendous Work.
BTW, I think if we had to justify art by commercial value, function or form we would be living in a pretty mondane world.
I believe it’s a brave decision to just do art and artist confront that decision everyday. Often the art that makes the most money is not always the work we desire to do.
Nothing wrong with art for artsake
And Portraiture appeals to the most common of emotions…Vanity
nice photoshop skills.
then they say muslims always cheat.lmao:lol:
WOW!
Most impressive and detailled!
nice work. The nasal holes look a bit angular.
Its a nice sculpt and a nice image. Maybe some Wip’s would be handy to stop all the b!tching.
very good one…
