I really like your piece with the woman and two canines. I’d love to see how you went from 3D to 2D (if you were using 3D) or just 2.5D

Here are the wips to the piece…Started out as a Z Brush 3d sculpt…wolf was made using the standard great dane looking dog that came with Z Brush, and the woman was modified from another mesh that someone gave me to work with. I can’t remember the original ower at the moment.
I basically first just get the composition in place that I like with the 3d models. Then turn the composition into a document and export the document to the Painter #10 program…I use the colored spotlights in that program to light the scene with color…Those lights in the Painter #10 program work kind of like stage lights in a theater.Then I import it back into Z Brush to further refine things with the SMEAR BRUSH, BUMP BRUSH…ALPHAS, or whatever works in and for the particular piece i’m working on…I basically just keep going back and forth between the two programs,Z Brush and Painter #10 while trying to get the best from each and have it work in the piece that i’m working on…Lots of experimenting, exploring, and possabilities for discovering the new to myself things that i’m searching for…

THANKS Bas… Yep,…painting from recolection with only memory as a refference is the best way to capture and express a personal inner feeling for the spirit and soul of the subject …Turner was great at that, and that is what set him apart from all the others of his time.

Some of the textures remind me of fish skull and fin bones that i’ve found on the beach after the sea gulls have picked them clean.
Just having alot of fun experimenting and exploring with the new possabilities of all of these new brushs that are in Z Brush now.

More work done on this old Satyr type of character sculpture…gave him a couple of 3d eye balls and worked around the eyelids and eye sockets a little bit…All Z Brush… Created and sculpted from a single primatve poly mesh sphere…except the two new eyes which are sub tools at the moment.
