Beautiful work! Really like the renders. Care to talk about the keyshot process a little more? Thanks for sharing!
Thankyou, I had great fun with those Capaldi ‘Attack’ eyebrows!
Nick: Yes of course!
This is roughly the same setup as my previous one in Modo; a 4 light setup, with a main light, a fill light and 2 edge lights. Transferring the sculpt is easy with the new bridge and I’ve been using adjusted versions of the special Zbrush materials for Keyshot (I adjust the specular colours and the roughness).
I’m using 4 discs, which you can add using the edit menu, with the Keyshot area light materials applied for the lighting. I turn off the environment by using the black environment and then use a plain colour background in the environment settings. I position each disc using the move tool under the position tab in the project bar, I add the main light first, then the fill light and then the edge lights. With the fill light you can also use an environment with low brightness. I love this method because you can really experiment with warm and cool contrasts and Keyshot is really snappy when updating the changes. I’m also finding it a lot easier than editing an HDRI at the moment.

Ahhh…very cool! Thanks for the insight! Congrats on the Top row! I really enjoy the work!
his works are amazing
An addendum: If your render is a little washed out, apply a diffuse white material to your model with the same lighting for a shadow pass. For AO, turn all the lights down and change the environment to all white. If you render out a png you can just drop it into Photoshop and comp as normal.
these are great, love your style.
Congratulations on the top row – very well deserved!
oh the one with horns!! the absolute model for me!!! great!!
Wow really awesome sculpts, such a unique style!!
Nick: You’re welcome mate
kaisasose: That’s a great idea! One thing I was puzzled about was the lack of AO pass in Keyshot so it’s good to have a workaround.
Thanks again everyone for the comments! Here’s some of my 3d prints, all from my Form1+ except the Ubin which was done with a service. These are fairly small, about 6-7 inches tall.
