I assume it will be like ZB4 to ZB4r2 in that you will get a link in your email once it releases and will download the whole program again with a new serial key to activate it. If that’s true i’ll have 3 different versions of Zbrush installed on my puter…hoping they just release it as a patch but i’m not a veteran user so I dunno if they even release patches like other programs do. Either way I can’t wait for fibermesh…looks amazing and WAY easier than trying to do hair in Maya. Thanks Pixo!!

Yes a patch would be nice, if it does not come in a patch but a new version, do you need to uninstall the older version first?
I get the feeling that it could be a “plug in” download… makes more sense than to have us all go through the “not” so cleverbridge routine.
You wont have to uninstall the old version first. You can have both versions installed (and personally I like to for the first little while just in case I run into any problems with the new version).
I’m guessing it’ll be a full download as it comes with some other extras (I heard there is a new anatomy reference mesh from Mr Kinglien : D)

Actually, voodoodad - ZBrush updates are (to my knowledge) released on southern hemishpere time because Pixo (or cleverbridge?) are based down here. So the new patch should arrive tomorrow. However if it’s anything like Z4R2, we may not get our download link for a while.

My mistake, Pixologic confirmed R2b will be released “Pacific Time” (according to Twitter).
I seem to recall R2 coming out on the date down here, hence the assumption.
