I think on way that may help, is using the best render button instead of the not button, it gives you nice soft shadows over the whole model. I hope that helps!
wow this matt damon soldier is awesome … would love to see more …great work!
Wow man, great sculpt! Loved the details of the accessories
This looks pretty amazing! And with texture it definitely has potential to be photorealistic. great job!
Nice work, Erik! Good to see that you keep yourself occupied now that you are “skipping” work. Have you started on a homepage yet? I can really recommend wordpress.com. It’s nice to not have to deal with html and spend time sculpting instead.
By the way. I think the soldier would look great with a helmet ;-D. Here is a reference image. I found it on this internet thing called GOOGLE
Oh yeah, I just realised I should write something about those shadow issues below the eyelid. Try dialing LDepth to a negative value and/or raising the gamma on your render/Light/BPR Shadow. If you would have had issues with your shadow being over all to dark you could lower the GStrength value. To get a better diagnostic view of the shadows you an appy a material with high ambient lighting and no diffuse or specular. Another option is to do the diagnostic with the BPR filters.
Thank you all so much! I really appreciate the generous comments And thanks for the help on the lighting!
I’ll post some more renders of this in the near future
Bystedt, always the funny guy…! He does have a helmet, I just removed it because the shadows cast from it only made everything worse!
Though, now, it seems like the Ldepth thing did the trick! Thank you ZBrush master Bystedt! I loved your fibermesh tutorials!
excellent sculpt!
Thank you!
So here’s another render. Funny how it’s almost exactly the same angle and crop as last time…! But here’s the helmet and I also added a radio and tweaked a bunch of other stuff. Still more to come!
I haven’t worked on any personal stuff during the past six months, mostly due to being focused on work a lot. So good thing I saved these updates from characters I fiddled with early this year Hopefully I can call all of these very WIP and get back to them at some point in the not too distant future!
Ryan Gosling… looking weird. I hope it’s mostly because of the missing eyebrows.
Based on a concept from James Kei, still mostly symmetrical. I hope to get back to this one sometime!
and also a video render of the marine. Maybe not the prettiest render. My BPR skills never grew far. 720p and fullscreen for ULTRA MAXIMUM EFFECT.
I also attempted to pose the t-rex doodle, and of course the posing involved some proportional modifications too
Hey Erik,
Nice to see that you still have some time to post some new stuff! I like the guyin the cap
Very cool ! I really like the style on the last character, well done
very nice stuff here
