Excellent work man!
I got the same question from aliasz… how to create a single low poly mesh from the different parts?
Maybe using the reto you can obtain different meshes, and then you weld the points in Max?
Anyway baking the entire Hi poly details in one single step means to have in max all the hi poly parts (impossible), or do you used lowpoly+normal parts as sources?
Sorry for the many questions…thanks !

The only part I don’t like is the bat logo on his chest. It gets lost between the pecs and you can’t really tell it’s the Batman logo anymore.

Good grief, these additional renders are amazing too

the retopo is done in max. i import medrez level zbrush meshes in max and make another Single Mesh on top of it.just simple old school modeling, after that i use polyboost or anyother snap to mesh tool so that the face are closer to the highpoly, i then unwrap it.

for normal maps, i import the highest level of the mesh in xNormal and bake it( its hard for max to import 20+ mill).xNormal is really great in handling really high level meshes

for Ao map i import 1 level less than the highest of every part in max, just so i get enuf shades in the AO map, max mental ray ao is really great if you tweak the setting according to the mesh

sometimes i just bake normals of the parts seperate, like the head ,torso arms.use anyway to get the best result.

Thank you farazmobin, so xNormal seems to be the key to generate normalmaps if i want multiple hi poly meshes to be mapped into one new… i guess it can create the Ao also…i really want to try!
Thank you again, i hope to see more from you

ONLY 6 thousand POLYS?!?! faints

2 words man…BAD ASSI had to change my pants when i saw this lol

I hate to mention it, cause you’ve put so much work into it, but this batman could never run or sit cause there’s all the armor on his upper thigh. If you look at a suit of armor, where you can see the layers of articulation, it would help you a lot. If you had gone in a straight line up the thigh from the knee with the metal part of the armor and then curved it away from the crotch towards the outer hip, it’d probably been okay.

Saying that, this model is incredible, and has tons of detail. It’s a great job.

can’t wait for your tutorial now!!!

nice stuffffff super sleeek

Hi, I am new here  I love your model and I wish, it would be included in some film, or game… and speaking of games, I would like to ask - is it possible to import your model to Unreal Tournament 3, or other game running on the Unreal engine?

sir can i use your model for my animated film i dont have any commercial purpose

sure

This design has stuck with me, so I noticed when I saw it pop up some where. It looks like someone in the Poser marketplace has gone, lopped a few parts off, and offered your mesh up for sale (complete with some tweaked textures).

oh thanks… i have contacted the guy… but i doubt no one will be buying that model.

As the original modeler, if you contact [email protected] they would likely take it down. A third party could send them poly for poly comparisons and even point out that the maps are recycled (but for some color tweaks and additional overlays), but until someone who is actually in position to sue contacts them they tend to turn a blind eye and rake in what money they can.
