For the moment itâs a perfect greek proportion
Pilou
i give up
nah. ill fix it. i promise. just not yet.
Nice to see you back Martin!
Awsome work to come!
Could you make it clear for me :
You have an entire body in zbrush, imported as separated groups, and here, you just hide the rest of the body right?
And what is Clay? Its a 3d soft?
I am by no means an authority on Asian anatomy but try widening the face/cheek bones some more.
I would not want to meet this guy in a dark alley!
slowly chipping at it. the head is blocked out cuz im kinda ashamed to admit i made a mistake of using the wrong model to begin the zbrush work on :(. i had a more updated and better proportioned version. rather subtle stuff all over but the head was enlarged a significant amount. so now ill just have to scale it up after i get done the zbrush and i redraw the cage.

Looking good! Do you have any plans for this guy, or is he just a study?

OMG!!!
Totally awesome Martin, congratulations for this masterpiece
Definitely cool! Are you working from a âcrapâ topology model, or one with edge loops already set up?
One thing that always puzzled me is, now that we can model all this cool detail, how in the heck are we going to animate it? Iâm still unsure of what should be modeled, and what shouldnât be modeled. Like the back and shoulder muscles. Should they be relaxed, or strained? Whatâs your take on that?
You called it an asian, but you need o study more about the shape of the underlaying skull. The cheekbones, the upper part of the nose are not asian. Not only the eyes makes an asian. I write this because you had a lot of positive comment from people who are looking superficial and I think you are not waiting for a pat on the back from big names, because itâs is not helping you. Donât hunt effects but targets! Never try to blow away others (Iâve read the opposite somewhere here).
Keep on posting, you have talent!!!
this is the original ( though its a newer version than i used because it has a bigger head and stuff. )
in the end i will be redrawing the cage in silo most likely. only to then go back to Z and detail him a lot more. him being 170k polys, theres a lot more i could put into him if i subdivided some more. the main thing i want to use him for is a personal study, nothing else really. ( unless something else comes up and i get inspired to do something with it )

yeah. i called it asian because i thought i could nail it within zb alone, and i probably could, but ill leave that stage until im back in silo when i redraw the cage. thats when ill make the head bigger as well, and make the palms not as long.
cheerios.

Your body topology looks like you started out with Zspheres. Interesting. How I work now seems to be how youâre doing it too. Although I donât subdivide my Zbrush model to 170k, mine is usually around the 90k mark. I think the difference though is you did a lot more detail in the head/feet than I did for my initial âsculptâ mesh.
Thanks for sharing.
yeah. i like using z spheres myself to start skins for models. its just easier for me than extruding⊠moving⊠rotating, etc. i just like the fact that you can scale limbs, rotate them and such with ease.
