Count Dracula!

Firstly, simply awesome work. Why isn’t this on TOP ROW already?
It’s an honour to see your work here, and long may that continue.

Hey Rick,
Its always such a treat when you post, and its been a while. I’m hoping that means good things in movie land! I know that you always do some post work, usually involving hair, maybe DOF. On your last pic you’ve got some crazy good eyebrows. If you ever get spare time, (ok I’m not trying to joke), would you make a little tute on your method of doing your post work hair. I’ve seen outstanding 3D hair, which is absolutely necessary for animation, but for stills I think Photoshop hair is a grand alternate method. Now, if I could only figure out how you’ve done it.
Later (hopefully)
Gary

Holy Smoke!!! This is lovely Mr. Baker… The detail on the skin is mind blowing.

Thanks for sharing and inspiring

Heyas Rick. Early Happy Halloween. Great to come back and see you are still hard at it. Great Lugosi to say the least. Can’t wait to get my own z fingers back at it. I was just speaking of you last night to a young man as we watched my old fav It’s Alive. That classic definitely needs an updated Rick Baker version for people to fall in love all over again.

cyas,
Ron

Wow, look at me giving advices to Rick Baker hehe, I loved star wars and eddie murphy, and I’m considered a fool giving out advices in these parts because I am no pro, but I am true I can tell you that much. And I don’t make differences amongst people. I think that the Dracula is coming along very good, and if I may be so bold to suggest pulling in the top of the nose a bit, and pulling out the wrinkles above it would give so much depth to it and I’d mistake it for a photo, those I currently perceive as somewhat flat. But it’s not up to me.

You’re an inspiration,
Dmitrij

Wow. My heart jumped to my throat when I scrolled down to the eyes. So much life there. Amazing work. nothing else to say.

I’ve been a fan of yours ever since King Kong and continue to watch any movie you’ve worked on to this day. One of my favorites is Harry & the Hendersons, sasquatch is one of my favorite creatures.

I’ve been doing quite a bit of work in the field of research looking into the sasquatch, and occasionally your name comes up in regards to the Patterson film, that old film clip from 1967 alleged to be of a sasquatch walking in front of a forest in northern California. I had read that you were working for John Chambers back in the day, and Chambers claimed he had made the suit. One person interviewed Chambers and claims that Chambers denied making the suit. Can you tell me what you know about it? I’d love to hear your take on the whole thing, being the master of ape suits that you are.

Like I said, the eyes are awesome. I’m not a big fan of the hair so far, but the eyebrows and eyelashes look great. I would also consider paying more attention to the brow to bring it up to the level of the rest of the sculpt.
I love the overall expression - you nailed his piercing stare.

WooW !!! awsome !

I was wondering the exact same.

I am amazed at the realism you’ve captured. :grimacing:

Thanks guys,
Hey Ron long time no hear. Happy Halloween.

Yes the wet meniscus is a strip of geometry .I always wondered what you call that.

Well I am calling this done for now. I still want to finish it a lot more but have to move on to getting ready for Halloween. Besides I am becoming blind to this . It will be good to get away for a while.
Hope you like it .

Excellent work Rick! Keep rocking.
Best regards, Selwy

sweet, loving the update:+1: The subtle details make it wonderful.

simply awesome.
Loved the face texture.Looks so real!

Amazing!!!:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

This is a fantastic image of Bela…top row!!! :+1: :+1:

Really good work you’ve done here! :+1: It’s been interesting to see the changes happen so quickly.

I’m a huge fan of the “refrigerator rule”, which is the theory of putting something up on the cooler and only taking a glance at it when you’re in the kitchen. It’s amazing how many things you’ll notice with fresh eyes that you won’t see when staring at it for hours.

This looks finished as is, but I look forward to any future versions.

Awesome as always! Good to see you posting again.

this is why you are The monster maker

I see no need for a revision in the future  Looks perfect to me.
Inspiring work Rick!
