African Woman

lovin the idea/style/sculpt/render
this has to be in top row soon fab work :+1:

wow … cool work…
i love the stylized proportions…
nice final render too. just the spec is a bit high IMO.but may b its just me.
best of luck

long time no see M2. the final result turned out great!
i’ve only seen a handful girls who has produced 3d work at this level. say hello to your BF from me!

cheers

Lovely character, true the proportions are strange but I think they are challenging, and they work very well. I wouldn’t change them personally.
The eyes and espressions are superb.
I’d love to animate tha bootie…

Andrea

omg
that’s brilliant!

it’s perfect technicaly
but lil bit ugly visualy
she got caricature proportions, but not a bit of humor or funny stuff in picture… but here in russia i almost never saw black woman, so maby u catch some thin nuance…

This is definitely great work. I realy like the it.
As a critic there is something about her skin. The lights reflecting on her skin are effecting wide area of her body and it looks a bit plastic than flesh. Maybe it’s part of the expression.

Great work Martina.:+1:

Great work ths far. Please continue to pump out great stuff. I like the direction that you are going in, but the thing that bothers me is the hips. I like that there is a connection between the hips and the jug she is carrying, but some areas do not make sense. I noticed some awkwardness from the front view, but the side view really got my attention.

  1. I think you should rework how the pelvis interacts with the back and stomach. Allow the bones in the pelvis to define her shape more. I imagine that she is not pregnant, but allow some of the shape to cast shadows in more depressed areas.

  2. The transition from the torso > Pelvis/Stomach > Legs need more work. The Pelvis is too high and the torso is too thin. Bump out the torso a bit to create a slight convex curve and transition into the stomach and pelvis.

  3. The legs connecting to the pelvis seems awkward. Please dont hide the pelvis and legs. The grass skirt seems to hide what you didn’t finish as opposed to highlighting the very dynamic area.

  4. The image looks great, but it looks a little flat. You could work a little more detail into the nipples and body transitions. Ex: the knees and elbows could look a little darker with some slightly rougher texture. I know your not going for real, but adding it will make the image stronger.

  5. The stomach does not look round. You shadows are not making a positive impact.

Hope this helps.

Keep Zbrushing!

Very interesting female figure…i like her cartoon sculpting style…original

wowza! Nice! :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:
Lemo

it’s perfect technicaly. Great work!! and nice material!! :+1: :+1:

Pure awesomenes !!! :+1:

Really cool! Only thing I’d do is pull that ear down a bit from the weight of the ear ring.
The eyes are perfect.

Cool! Nice style.I like it.:grimacing:

Awesome Work! :+1:

Good sculpting!

Can’t say I’ve EVER seen african neck rings - more a product of the vanity & chauvinism of the ‘Padaungs’ in SE Asia… Still - ‘style travels’ as they say, in this global age

Chris

very nice work…:+1: :+1:

@ atwooki: there is a tribe in Southern Africa where the women also wear neck rings. If I remember well, they are related to the Zulu people.

Great work indeed. You really went very deep into your subject.

Hope to see more from you, even more as I recently got Modo…

Yup. Erik is right. The ndebele tribe. A very colourful tribe. They paint there huts with all sorts of geometric shapes and colours.

Hi all!

Thank you so much for your comments and critics!
There are many good points and suggestions!
I will try to improve myself to the next project.

Some of you gave me critics about the spec map.
Before I went crazy with the proportions and the kind of surreal cartoonish
renderstyle, I made her a bit more realistic.
Maybe I should have stayed in the old render-direction.
These facial rendertests are done in Maya,
and I used Shave and a Haircut for the hair.

Thanks
/ Martina
